The Story Behind the Design:
 
The account/story of Gideon and his 300 men is found in Judges chapter 7. Gideon was told by the Lord that he had too many men in his army to go against the enemy. He had 32,000 men, which was less than the opponent. The Lord didn't want them to think that they won the battle in their own strength. They needed to trust Him to do the battle.
 
First he told those who were afraid, to go home - and 22,000 men left! That shows you right there that they knew the odds were bad! Then the Lord had Gideon take the men that were left to a river, and by how they drank water, they were whittled down to the 300 men.
 
How would you have liked those odds? It wasn't looking good, if you were looking in the natural. God doesn't work in the natural. He works in the supernatural. And he proved it when He sent these 300 men against the army with trumpets (shofars) and torches! Wow!
 
That took a lot of faith for those men to trust the Lord by even showing up. The plan was to attack at night and alarm them. At the signal, they blew the trumpets at the same time, broke the jars protecting the torches flames and the enemy got confused and they killed each other.
 
This design represents the men of faith who believes that God has the best plan, and that He can be trusted. The shofar (trumpet) also represents the sounds that you make with your mouth. The words that you say, the prayers you pray, the songs with which you worship. And the flame of the torch represents the "fire" for the Lord that you carry. It can also represent the Holy Spirit with you. There is so much represented in this design, and I hope that you will shar about it when you wear it.
