The Story Behind the Design:
We find this phrase was spoken to Joshua at least four times. The first two times that we find this is in Deuteronomy 31: 6-7. Moses was speaking to Joshua and giving him his last instructions for leading the Children of Israel into the Promised Land. Moses knew that he was going to die, and Joshua was taking his place as leader of this people.
Deuteronomy 31: 6,7 Be strong and courageous! Do not fear or tremble before them, for the LORD your God is the one who is going with you. He wll not fail you or abandon you!" Then Moses called out to Joshua in the presence of all Israel,"Be strong and courageous, for you will accomany these people to the land that the LORD promised to give their ancestors, and you will enable them to inherit it. Then after Moses died, the Lord was ready to take the people into the Promised Land, and He spoke with Moses to remind him of His promises.
Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of a goood courage: for to this people shalt though divide for an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to eh left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
9. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. WEB
The Lord promised Joshua that He would be with him, like He was with Moses. And when you ask the Lord to be with you, He will be with you, too. And He will never leave you!
